Tatyana Turner and Sam McMonagle Named as Winners of the Wrestlers in Business Network Philadelphia Scholarship Program

 

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Wrestlers in Business Network – Philadelphia Chapter is proud to announce Tatyana Turner and Sam McMonagle as the inaugural winners of the WIBN Philadelphia scholarship program. Both Turner and McMonagle, whose essays were selected by a scholarship committee, will receive $1000 to put towards their future education.

Turner, an Academy of Palumbo graduate, will continue her academic and athletic endeavors at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. Turner was a varsity wrestler on her high school’s all-boys team and finished runner-up at the 2019 girl’s folkstyle state tournament. Tatyana was the vice president of her senior class as well as the captain of the school’s debate team and plans to pursue a degree in political studies with a minor in pre-law and legal studies. 

McMonagle is a four-time state qualifier and two-time state place winner for West Chester Henderson, finishing 7th in 2020 and 4th in 2021. In the fall, Sam will attend Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he plans to study engineering and compete on the wrestling team. While he has not solidified his major just yet, he is considering biomedical or mechanical engineering.

WIBN Philadelphia intends to provide more scholarship opportunities to local wrestlers in the future.
