WIBN December Newsletter

Manheim, PA - Season's greetings from the WIBN during this busy and festive time of year.  I'm excited to share some updates with you as we put the finishing touches on a very eventful 2020.

WIBN National Launches Speaker Series: On December 10, 2020, the WIBN National launched its new speaker series featuring iconic Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist (Sequoia Capital) and National Wrestling Hall of Fame "soon to be inductee," Carl Eschenbach. Carl delivered some terrific messages regarding "Key Traits of Successful Managers and Entrepreneurs," exciting new technologies for small businesses, thoughts on the future of work from home trends, and much more. Carl is the first of a series of speakers that WIBN National is lining up over the next six months to keep the WIBN chapter members fully engaged until we can get back to "in person" local chapter events. If you missed Carl's interview and want to see it, please click here to see his interview:  https://www.wrestlersinbusiness.org/video-library.

Please be sure to visit www.wrestlersinbusiness.org shortly after January 1 to see subsequent speakers' lineup for our series. If there are specific topics that you are interested in, please submit suggestions to Mike Moyer, executive director of WIBN, at mmoyer@nwca.cc. We want to make certain that we are meeting the unique needs of our very diverse WIBN membership.

New WIBN Chapter Inquiries: We continue to receive many inquiries from business leaders across the nation who are interested in establishing new WIBN Chapters. All it takes is 12 to 15 business leaders in a one-hour radius who are willing to serve on a local WIBN chapter board. Typically, the NWCA already has a network of business leaders in most regions, so we are always happy to compare our list with your prospect list in the spirit of developing a solid WIBN Chapter Board. WIBN National can make it very easy from that point forward. We provide all WIBN chapters with a comprehensive playbook, dedicated website for each chapter, online membership and event registration, D&O insurance, liability insurance, assistance with setting up a bank account, registration of your chapter with your state, and much more. For more information about WIBN, please visit www.wrestlersinbusiness.org.

Update on College and High School Wrestling Season: While we do have some men's and women's intercollegiate teams competing in November/December, we remain hopeful that the majority of our intercollegiate programs will be competing by mid-January. At the high school level, approximately 1/3 of the state high school athletic associations have their wrestling seasons underway. Another third are hoping to get things started in early January. Those remaining are planning for a late March or early April start. Let's hope that we can keep COVID-19 at bay so we can successfully complete our wrestling seasons.

Closing: On behalf of the WIBN Board of Directors, I want to wish all of our WIBN members a very happy holiday season and a healthy/prosperous New year! We can't wait to get back to "in person" WIBN chapter events that provide terrific business development and networking opportunities for our current wrestlers and/or wrestling alumni.
