WIBN FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER
Manheim, PA - On behalf of our Wrestlers In Business Network (WIBN) National Board, I want to thank all of our chapter leaders, members, sponsors, and donors for your relentless efforts to host successful business networking and career advancement events in your regions. We have been thrilled with some of the very innovative activities that some chapters have been implementing, which include but are not limited to:
Wrestlers Appreciation Night at a Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball Game (organized by WIBN/Cleveland).
Private Screening of “Wrestled Away” with lee Kemp (Organized by WIBN/Cleveland)
Bourbon Tasting event hosted by WIBN/Washington DC
WIBN/SW Florida is sponsoring several scholastic coaches to attend the NWCA Convention
WIBN/Western NY is rallying the business community to establish a new men’s and women’s intercollegiate wrestling team.
WIBN/Delaware contributed over $3,000 to “Takedown Cancer” in its region
I could go on for pages with other examples of WIBN Chapters that have hosted extraordinary events in their regions. Suffice it to say; we need to keep growing membership in our existing chapters while establishing many more chapters around the nation to support wrestling at every level. The primary benefits of being a member include a searchable business directory listing on your local WIBN Chapter website, the opportunity to post your resume online, and discounts to networking and career advancement events.
We also need to identify business leaders across the nation who can help us establish new WIBN chapters. The ingredients required to start a new chapter include 12 to 15 business leaders who are willing to serve on a local WIBN Chapter Board and a strong leader in launching the chapter. Please call our office if you have an interest in getting a chapter going in your region.
We also have a few WIBN Chapters who are seeking some additional board members to fortify their leadership positions. Three chapters, in particular, that are seeking additional board members are WIBN/Philadelphia (this includes South Jersey), WIBN/Lancaster (PA), and WIBN/Western NC. If you live in one of these three regions and are interested in a board position, please contact the NWCA office so we can connect you with the chair of these WIBN chapters.
