Wrestler in Business Network Philadelphia Scholarship Program

Philadelphia, Pa. –The Wrestlers in Business Network – Philadelphia Chapter is proud to announce Chelsea Campos and Max Parnis as the 3rd annual winners of the WIBN Philadelphia scholarship program. Both Campos and Parnis, whose essays were selected by a scholarship committee, will receive $1000 to put towards their future education.

Chelsea Campos, a Coatesville Area High School graduate, will continue her academic endeavors at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She will continue to serve her community by coaching the newly formed girls’ wrestling team at Coatesville Area High School while competing for Temple Women’s Wrestling Club. Campos became the first female to win a wrestling match on the JV level her junior year. Her passion pushed her to train through the summer at various clinics, camps, and off-season tournaments. She finished her high school career with a 6th place finish at the women’s Regional Championships. Beyond wrestling, Chelsea has a deep passion for caring for others. She has worked at a local retirement home during high school and will continue to serve others as she pursues a nursing degree from Temple University.

Max Parnis, a West Chester East High School graduate, qualified twice for the PIAA State Tournament. Parnis recorded 105 wins during his high school career with a severely restricted sophomore season due to Covid limiting competition. Parnis was recognized his senior year as the District 1 Outstanding Wrestler for his skill on the mat and with the Regional Outstanding Sportsmanship Award for his character as a wrestler. His competitive spirit led him to participate in the 2022 Maccabiah Games in Israel with a gold medal finish. The Maccabiah Games includes Jewish athletes from all over the world where they compete and connect to others within the wider Jewish community. This fall, Parnis will attend Ursinus College and compete for the Bears under Head Coach Joe Jamison. Max will be studying business and entrepreneurship for his undergraduate degree.

WIBN Philadelphia is committed to continuing to highlight and award yearly scholarships to wrestlers in the Philadelphia Community.
