2022 WIBN Charlotte's High School Scholarship Program - CLOSED

Wrestlers In Business Network (WIBN) - Charlotte Chapter Scholarship Program will be awarded to two high school student athletes - one male & one female. This scholarship will provide $1,000.00 per chosen athlete to be used for their next phase in life whether that decision is a 4-year college, a 2-year college, technical/trade school, or the military.  (Preference will be for student-athletes within 100 miles of Charlotte.)  

The student athletes will be required to apply for the scholarship, which includes a written letter to the WIBN Charlotte Board as to why they are deserving of the scholarship and their plans for the future.

The scholarship committee will review all applicants and pass on their top candidates for a full Board vote. The Board will be looking for a well-rounded, student athlete, that participates in wrestling, involved with other activities outside of wrestling, exudes leadership, and maintains high moral standards & character.

The application process will begin on April 27th, with the intention of making the scholarship awards in July. Applications are due by June 30, 2022.  If you know of a student-athlete you feel is worthy of receiving these scholarship awards, please have them submit for consideration.

Requirements for the application process:

  • Full Name, phone, address

  • Name of High School attending

  • Name of High School principal

  • Name of High School guidance counselor

  • Name of High School wrestling coach

Scholarship application letter should include:

  • Wrestling Credentials

  • GPA

  • Class Rank

  • Involvement in other activities

  • Explain why they are deserving of the award

  • Plans for the future (college, military, trade school)

  • Resume (reception of scholarship will not be based on resume content, but is a requirement for consideration of the award).

The WIBN is a business network for the wrestling community and we will provide a free WIBN membership to all that apply for the scholarship once completed.
