WIBN OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Manheim, PA - On behalf of our Wrestlers in Business Network (WIBN) Board of Directors, I hope everyone is able to successfully navigate through the ongoing COVID-19 related challenges. I continue to be inspired by the incredible resourcefulness and innovation of our wrestling alumni, many of which have some formidable challenges to overcome. If we can ever be of help with consulting related connections, please don’t hesitate to call our office.

Innovative membership drive and business development concept: That said, I had the privilege of being invited to join a WIBN/Michigan Chapter zoom meeting the other day and wanted to share an innovative initiative they have recently launched designed to grow membership and facilitate business development meetings. Essentially, they have set up a fun wrestling tournament concept in which business leaders can score “points” (i.e. takedowns, reversals, near falls, etc.) based on WIBN facilitated business development meetings that occur, deals that are closed, business development referrals that transpire, and so forth. As you can imagine, nobody is more competitive than a wrestler and now that a competition has been established to drive membership and business development in their Chapter, points will start accumulating quickly. There is no doubt that COVID-19 has made things challenging for our WIBN chapters but this is the type of innovation that we want to encourage all chapters to consider. If your chapter is doing something that is “out of the box,” please let us know so we can add it to the “playbook” so it can be shared with other chapter leaders.

Philly Chapter Re-launched: I am also excited to announce that our WIBN/Philadelphia Chapter has been re-launched. This chapter was very active several years ago and then became dormant. Thankfully, the COO of Winning Mindset, Jake Hunter was willing to serve in the “Chairman” role and has since fortified the existing chapter board with numerous business leaders. Needless to say, it is terrific to have the WIBN/Philadelphia Chapter back in business.

Need for a few Chapter Chairs in Chicago & Pittsburgh PA: I’d also like to ask for everyone’s help in identifying chapter chairman prospects to lead a developing group of business leaders in the Chicago, IL and Pittsburgh, PA regions. Over the past few months, we have been able to attract some very strong business leaders who are willing to serve on the board but none of them have the time to actually lead the chapter. Please forward any prospects who might be willing to serve in the chairman role directly to Mike Moyer at mmoyer@nwca.cc.

Need for some additional board members in New Orleans: We have strong interest from some business leaders in New Orleans to form a WIBN chapter. We need to find another 6-8 business leaders in the region who are willing to serve on the Board. If you are interested or can refer us to some potential prospects, please contact Mike Moyer at mmoyer@nwca.cc.

Update on Wrestling Season: For those of you who are wondering, I thought I would give a quick update on the status of the upcoming high school and college wrestling season. Please know that the situation is very fluid and can change on any day but as of the end of October, it appears as if most college wrestling programs are still aiming to start competitions around January 1, 2021. Depending on the geographic region and COVID-19 infection rates, some college teams have started practicing while others still don’t have students even on campus. As the high school level, we have developed a tracking chart that illustrates the status of wrestling in all states. In closing, please know we are forever grateful for the relentless efforts of so many business leaders across the nation to ensure the success of WIBN. We all know that tough times won’t last but tough wrestlers will.

Growing wrestling together, Mike
