WIBN September Newsletter

Manheim, PA - On behalf of the Wrestlers in Business Network (WIBN) Board of Directors, I hope everyone has been able to navigate through the various COVID-19 related hardships successfully. As we have previously suggested, please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything the WIBN/National office can do to assist you with any challenges you may have. We have a great network of business and community leaders in almost every industry. I doubt there are many challenges that we can help you solve by leveraging the vast expertise of the WIBN network.

WIBN College Coach Consultants Needed: I want to give a shout out to some of our iconic WIBN business leaders who have so generously agreed to help support some of our wrestling coaches who are at the helm of some of our most under-funded college teams and/or who are trying to sustain newly established intercollegiate men's and women's teams. This partnership (between the NWCA and WIBN) is to leverage the business acumen of successful business leaders to help college coaches establish and closely monitor the "key performance indicators" of their respective programs and, whenever necessary, develop innovative solutions to overcome any program deficiencies. We are always looking for additional business leaders from our WIBN network who have some discretionary time to help consult some of our college coaches as they navigate through very challenging economic times. Conversely, if any college coaches want to be first in line to participate in this program, please contact Mike Moyer at mmoyer@nwca.cc.

Revitalized WIBN Chapters and New WIBN Chapters Being Formed: I am excited to mention that significant progress is being made concerning revitalizing two of our existing WIBN Chapters and establishing a few new chapters. We are looking for additional business leaders to volunteer to be part of WIBN Chapter Boards at the following locations:

  • WIBN/Philadelphia Chapter (revitalization)

  • WIBN/Lancaster Chapter (revitalization)

  • San Diego (new chapter forming)

  • Chicago (new chapter forming)

  • Pittsburgh (new chapter forming)

  • South Carolina (new chapter forming)

Please know that the WIBN/National office provides terrific resources and services to ensure successful events, including but not limited to a playbook, online event and membership registration, and marketing/promotion support out of the NWCA database. If you are interested in volunteering to join a Board of one of our existing chapters, one of our emerging chapters, and/or helping us establish a new chapter, please contact Mike Moyer at mmoyer@nwca.cc.

WIBN Webinar Series:   I wanted to thank everyone who has been submitting great topics to consider as we develop our monthly WIBN Webinar Series. Some of the most recommended topics to date have been the following:

  • Business Networking in the new virtual world

  • Tax strategies for small business in the COVID-19 environment

  • Best career opportunities that have emerged in the COVID-19 Pandemic

Please keep the topics coming. We hope to launch this program in October.

In closing, I want to thank everyone committed to making sure WIBN is successful in your communities. I know the COVID-19 restrictions have made things very challenging for your chapters, but we understand that the wrestler's resolve will always prevail despite the hardships. Wrestling specializes in adapting, improvising, and overcoming any obstacle in their way. Tough times won't last, but tough wrestlers will. I hope to see everyone at a wrestling event soon.

Growing wrestling together, Mike
