How did you get involved with wrestling?

Dad is wrestling coach. Dad and Uncle were NCAA champions (Oklahoma State). High School (St. Edward High School in Lakewood, OH) and College (Stanford University). Coaching at Shaker Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio and Grandview Youth Wrestling Club in Columbus, OH. Brother, Ben Hatta, also wrestled in high school and college (U Penn).

What do you do professionally? Tell a little about your professional journey. Feel free to promote yourself or your company/business. Include website, etc.

I help tech company founders and leaders design and scale recruiting programs, implement strategies that motivate and align their teams, and grow into the leaders their companies deserve.

What made you choose that path and why do you enjoy it?

I've spent my career in the tech industry since that's what a lot of people do coming out of Stanford. But I found my way back to Ohio to build my family. In the process, I've worked with several organizations that encourage and fund tech entrepreneurs across the Midwest.

How did wrestling prepare you for your professional career? What were the intangible benefits you learned through the sport (discipline, goal-setting, commitment, resilience, etc)?

Like any former wrestler, I benefit from discipline, work ethic, and the ability to take a direct hit to the face. You don't have to be all that smart or talented to succeed if you can work hard and endure pain. But I've also enjoyed amazing, lasting relationships with former teammates as well as new friends associated with the sport.
